I somehow found myself test driving an ‘08 328i. Coupe.
Yep, I know, how does a $18,000 Beemer equate to a $18,000 Camry? Let me tell you: it doesn’t. One’s a family sedan. The other? Well, a coupe made in Munich, Germany with a few “Quirks.” The USB would never work (iPhone still charges, though!), the seatbelt arm wouldn’t retract (kind of a nifty feature, though) and (as someone told me), my right brakelight was strangely on - even if my foot wasn’t on the brake.
Pluses? Well... It drove nicely, but that’s about it. Looks decent, too. And it was a bit cheap coupled with the cheap insurance rates from Geico, buuuut I ended up looking somewhere else. I might look at a few Legacies, though.

The Camry is a great car and you can enjoy many miles out of it. But if you want more luxury and prestige, consider the ES330/350

I’unno, I always told myself the Legacy was a bit better since it was a bit more roomy on the inside. And it definitely handles better.

Those are some weird quirks, especially the brake light thing.
As for a better $18,000 than a Camry, may I recommend a Pontiac G8 GT? $18k seems to be about the going rate for one in good condition.

The closest one I found is +30 miles away. The one in my area is a V6 that’s beat to hell...

Could also get a nice 05-06 Ponti GTO for that price too. Just sayin.

Could the brake light have been the rear fog light?

I have that as a sedan, great car, very reliable inline six that just sounds and drives perfectly. Pretty economical if I don’t beat on it either! You can find them with 60k for mid teens all day.
Fortunately my car doesn't have any of those quirks.

To be honest, it was at a Honda dealership so I kind of steeled myself up for some surprises.

Just did a 300 mile road trip to pick one up for a member in my family. Love everything about that car but the damn leather folds/seams DIRECTLY IN THE MIDDLE of the seat back.
WHY BMW, WHY?
